Academic Center for Excellence

Mission: The mission of the Academic Center for Excellence is to provide Columbus State University students with high quality, innovative academic support services through advising and tutorial services that will enable them to make sound decisions which will facilitate the accomplishment of their educational goals.

The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) provides students with a central resource for information about the academic programs, student support services, and other opportunities available at CSU. The Center assists students in exploring various majors and refers them, when appropriate, to related campus resources such as the Career Center and the Counseling Center. Advisors in the Academic Center for Excellence work closely with advisors in the academic departments to provide specialized advising to transfer students, first-year students who have not selected their majors, and returning students who are considering changes in their majors. The Center provides general advising information for all students, but specifically seeks to serve the populations of:

  • Undeclared
  • A.S. in General Studies
  • Criminal Justice (Freshmen and Sophomores, AAS)
  • High School Joint Enrollment/Early College
  • Transient/Audit/Post-Baccalaureate

The Academic Center for Excellence is located in Woodall Hall, Room 104. You can contact the Center by calling 706-562-1751 or by e-mail at academic_advising@colstate.edu. Center hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
